WHATEVER ARISES, LOVE THAT
I took part in an online summit program a while back and, in answer to a question about what happens when difficult feelings or emotions arise, I talked about loving what arises instead of fighting with it. In fact what I was really asking was, is it possible for us to fall in love with our inner experience in the way of a profoundly deep acceptance, and can that be an ongoing and daily devotion, not some fixed place or philosophy?
The video at the bottom of the page describes what I mean.
And now some poems from this week.
The dawn will arrive in its own time For now let us sit quietly in the dark night As the shadows and ghosts Dissolve in the presence Of our fearlessness. --------------------------- Dig deep into your self Until you arrive at an emptiness Filled only with the divine fragrance Of unconditional love Return to the world of form Carrying the essence of that fragrance And share it in whatever way you can. -------------------------- I looked at my life And saw a noble story of brokenness Now carried with humility I looked again And saw myths and legends unfolding A hero’s tale of coming into presence I looked again And saw the radiant one Taking form and shedding it I looked again And saw eternal awareness. -------------------------- I came undone gradually As the cliff built of stone Slowly erodes into the ocean. ------------------------- If you know the flower and the garden are not separate Why do you imagine you are separate from God. ------------------------- Whatever it is within your heart That longs to burst forth Cherish it and nurture it Don’t let the flame Be dampened by any negativity Yours or others There is a garden inside each being Don’t let it become barren A simple turning towards it Again and again Is enough. ---------------------------- You hide from yourself But your shadow appears Wherever you are What we push away Comes to us In many disguises. --------------------------- The light beckons all beings But the darkness is alluring And offers more feeling of power. ---------------------------- Seek only To know yourself Ever deeper Until all you know Is the divine. -------------------------- There is a light in the wound Unseen to the mind’s eye Known only to the heart’s openness. -------------------------- To hold the tragedy of life And the miraculous joy of life Equally, in the open hands of tenderness, Knowing they are part of the same thing Allows the beauty of unconditional love to shine its light Infinite in its capacity to hold everything. --------------------------
A short video for you: Whatever Arises, Love That.
