When we truly taste and touch our capacity to be unconditional, either in times of tragedy or beauty, or a moment of grace, it is as if the whole universe is there with us welcoming us home. It’s not mental, not a thought, nor even a feeling. It’s not located anywhere, not personal in that way. It is a melting of the self, a dissolving of the personal into just what is, the truth of things. Vast beyond measure, unconditional beyond knowledge.
Part of us knows this already. Maybe it’s this we search for in all this conditionality. That is our longing.
Here are some more poems of that longing as it arises in me. And please check the video at the end.
Bless you and thanks for reading.

Life is too short For fakery Too urgent And quick to pass To deny love Any longer We came here to love Not for fame, power or evil They are side shows We came to love To remember love To bring it to life And to live it Everything else Is an illusion. -------------------------------- Give your attention To the soul’s beauty To the love that longs to shine Give allegiance only To that inner fire That carries the light Into the darkness. ------------------------------- Walk with both Your ecstatic nature And your wounded humanity They are not opposites But the same divine being-ness Making its appearance. --------------------------------- After a long and arduous journey Undoing the complexity Of a self tied up in knots I came to a garden of simple, But magnificent, beauty And rested there. -------------------------------- The garden Is in your heart You leave it With each grievance With every attack And judgment There is no garden outside To realize this is the end of inner division. ------------------------------------ Throw open the doors of your heart Give up all this bartering and negotiating Love is not for trading Give of yourself freely without condition Conditional love is a trap In which everyone ends up in prison You can’t put walls around the sky. ----------------------------------- The pure heart Is filled with a kind of divine sorrow. ----------------------------------- As I have aged I have realized I know nothing About the mystery that is life And that admission Has opened the door To grace and humility It’s not a lack of knowledge It’s an openness to the mystery. ------------------------------------ Fall in love so deeply With your existence That everything Melts into you.
