Inner peace is often spoken about as a lofty ideal, yet for many, it remains elusive. Why? What truly stands in the way? This question, when asked with deep honesty, becomes a doorway to self-inquiry. It invites us to look beyond surface-level struggles and into the hidden forces shaping our experience.
Through exploration, we find that several key obstacles arise repeatedly:
1. Unconscious Family Patterns
Many of us unknowingly carry ancestral imprints—emotional and psychological patterns passed down through generations. These shape how we relate to love, work, power, and even our own sense of self. Until we shine a light on them, they continue to dictate our lives, keeping us stuck in unconscious cycles. Recognizing these patterns is the first step toward liberation.
2. Addictive Mechanisms
Seeking solace in distractions—whether through substances, habits, or even relentless busyness—often stems from a deep-seated need to escape discomfort. Addictions are not just about substances; they can also manifest in thought patterns, emotional loops, or the compulsion to seek external validation. True peace arises when we stop chasing escape and instead meet life as it is.
3. Fear of the Unknown and the Illusion of Control
Much of human suffering is tied to our resistance to uncertainty. We build layers of protection—mental constructs, routines, and rigid identities—to shield ourselves from the unknown. Yet, life itself is inherently uncertain. Real peace comes not from controlling everything, but from surrendering to the flow of existence.
4. Resistance to Discomfort
Transformation does not happen in comfort. The unwinding of conditioned patterns can bring up fear, anger, or grief. Many turn away at this point, retreating into old habits. But if we can develop the capacity to sit with discomfort, to lean into it rather than resist it, we discover an inner resilience we never knew existed.
The Inquiry That Opens the Door
Rather than seeking quick answers, we are invited to live with the question: What stands in the way of my inner peace? Not as a problem to fix, but as an unfolding inquiry. This willingness to look deeply—without judgment, without rushing to solutions—creates the space for transformation.
Peace is not something we acquire. It is revealed when the barriers we have built around it begin to dissolve. The question is, are we willing to face what stands in the way?

We are flowers In the garden Stars in the night sky The refraction of light And the appearance in form Of the divine Don’t waste this precious time Love others, be of service Die empty of self. ------------------------ The path is treacherous Filled with all manner Of ghosts and ghouls Of shadows and darkness Walk with presence Guided by the inner light Soon the path clears It was all imagination The dreams of a child And there was always Only unconditional love. ------------------------- Go naked of all beliefs and veils We live these covered lives Full of posturing and pretense And end up believing We are who we pretend to be What suffering it is To be an actor in one’s own life. ------------------------- When pain speaks, listen When emotion rises, feel When thoughts rush in, step back In presence, everything softens. ------------------------ Who is it That guided me to love’s treasure And pushed me through the door of freedom For it was not my own doing And I cannot find anyone here to thank. ----------------------- Surrender is not weakness, but the ultimate act of courage. It is an active meeting of life as it is, beyond the mind’s grasping for control and certainty. ----------------------- Nothing is quite as profound As the realization That what holds all The coming and going Of phenomena and form Is love’s unconditional embrace. ------------------------ There is a secret voice An Intelligence, Heard only in silence When the agitated self Has quietened It is the voice of wisdom And profound guidance An intelligence beyond knowledge That transcends time That reaches into eternity Know inner silence And you will surely hear it. --------------------------- The past becomes purified In the clear light of now There is a luminosity in presence That allows the past to dissolve And no longer have a toxic hold Over the host In effect, we are healed In the presence of now. ---------------------------- He or she Who can love Without condition And see without judgment Is a healing force And a grace to the world.

I brushed shoulders with death recently and am in the hospital now. It was an illness but more than that it was a death rehearsal. Even while in the thick of it I felt peace. Now coming out the otherside and seeing this amazing body I've been given recover, I feel an unshakable peace. I hope I never forget this peace.
I just wanted to share that and thank you Kavi. I've been traveling along with you throughh your writing for a few years now and I love and appreciate you and Ma with all my heart.
Thank you for the light.
