THE WILD ONE WITHIN
Sing, dance, paint, draw
Write poems to God
Jump naked into the ocean
Bathe in the wetness of life
Say yes to the juice
That longs to flow through your veins
There is a dryness to life
With all its rules and moral codes
Terrified of our wildness
We make desperate attempts to kill it
But we can’t kill it
So it comes out in terrible ways
We have it all upside down
We could be celebrating this wild one within
Allowing it to live and breathe and sing
And then it would become our wisdom
And we would stop being these separated entities
Prone to addiction and depression
And being unnecessarily cruel to each other
It’s madness…
So release your wild one
Sing, dance, paint, draw
Write poems to God
Jump naked into the ocean
Bathe in the wetness of life
Say yes to the juice
That longs to flow through your veins
It is our domesticity we should be afraid of.
