THE UNKNOWN PATH
What is meeting the unknown
But openness?
All strategies yielded
All ideas and beliefs surrendered
Mind’s mechanism seen through
Every attempt at control through certainty
Released from the steely grip we learned
What is it but falling, moment upon moment,
Into who knows what
And as the hand reaches out for safety
Yet again willingly withdrawn
The unknown is not a place we arrive at
It is a path we journey on
Why?
Because we are explorers and adventurers
We seek truth above the falsehood of imagination
Our attempts at living in the false known
With its imagined certainty and control
Have left us bereft and marooned
Dissatisfied and disillusioned
And there, at that point, something greater and brighter
Something more alive and vibrant has called us
And we have chosen to serve that longing
We all live in the unknown
But there is great wisdom and power
In admitting it.
