We arrive here as if mysteriously sent by some unknown intelligence. And many of us spend our time not just trying to survive and thrive, but also seeking to work out what this existence is and what it means. It may preoccupy us for many a year as we peer down many rabbit holes, of course all of them valuable in their way.
But then we arrive at the realization that there may be no meaning except the meaning we attribute to life. I have been on this path a long time and have met every variation of this, and still find it to be the juiciest of explorations.
Do we make meaning up to create value, for we are terrified of meaninglessness?
Is meaning, as Alan Watts suggests below, just about being here now, and that’s it?How do we cope emotionally in the world without any idea of meaning, when the whole of society is predicated on some meaning or other?
What is it like to walk in the world without conferring meaning? Is it the cause of happiness or sorrow, joy or depression?
Let me know.
“The meaning of life is just to be alive.
It is so plain and so obvious and so simple.
And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.” - Alan Watts.
Love with your heart on fire Ablaze with life Never settling for less Than the truth. ----------------------------- Become noble in your suffering Bear the unbearable with as much grace As you can allow Be intimate with your life By welcoming it home To the vastness of love That is your essence. -------------------------- It's OK to feel broken It's OK to hurt We don't have to pretend to be strong But we don’t have to indulge in poor me Neither do we have to build ourselves up And become anything we are not We can just be the way we are And in that acceptance There is peace. --------------------------- The wildness we carry Buried deep within Is not the kind of wildness Imagined by the mind It is the kind of wildness Longed for by the heart. --------------------------- We cannot resolve the past By denying it Or transcending it It must be welcomed back Into the wholeness we are. -------------------------- It may take an entire lifetime To realize the only truth that matters Is the totality and grace of love. ------------------------- I discovered a love That wasn’t made Of anything But was the essence Out of which Everything was made That was the end Of my searching. ---------------------------- You are a manifestation of the pure light But the weight of form And the pressure of self Caused you to forget So you search the world For something to complete you My friend, you are already complete And the light is still there Shining out through the cracks. ---------------------------- Grace is realizing that Whether resistance or surrender Is happening One is being carried anyway By something More vast than either.
As always thank you for reading my outpouring x
Thank you so much Kavi. Your outpourings are always welcome. The last one touched me deeply. Xx
Not sure asking your question “What’s it like........) can really be responded to in this format or at all really. It is everything is the shortest and most inclusive answer I can give. The patterns and flow of energies and behaviours are the ocean as you all say
