THE RUMI SEED
When I read Rumi
It was as though
A seed had been planted
Deep in my heart and soul
I watered that seed
With devotion to truth
And the courage to face myself
By and by that seed sprouted
And after many years under ground
It burst forth and opened
At first it was tender and youthful
But now it blooms all year long
And throws out its fragrance
For anyone who happens to pass by.
