“The pure heart
Is filled with a kind of divine sorrow.”
We must not deny our sorrow
Or turn away from this tender and intimate breath
The path of hardening is easy to take
A well trodden road taken by so many
That leads nowhere beautiful or true
No, we wanderers and wonderers
We misfits and mystics
Must take the mysterious path
The path of softening
While all around harden
To the open eyed
There is sorrow and grief everywhere
Hidden inside the smiles and busy-ness
Millions of broken hearts
Longing for a deeper love and tenderness
But unaware of their own longing
Don’t follow them
They don’t know where they are going
Take your own path
And purify your heart
Open the inner door
And cry into the night
You will wake up refreshed.

Oh...this is wonderful Kavi and so helpful. Thank you. Divine sorrow is tangible and the mystic embraces this. Thank you again and again.
Yes, this human existence is sad and tragic. But after resisting this and shutting down for much of my life, I have come to see that letting my heart break over and over is the only way. Thank you for your daily poems, Kavi, it helps me to feel less alone in this hardened and defended world. 🙏🏻❤️
