On the path of awakening, many seekers strive to transcend the body—as if freedom could be found by leaving behind the mess and memory of flesh. But this longing to escape often bypasses the very place where healing must begin.
The body, and especially the subtle body—the field of energy that holds emotion, memory, and ancestral imprint—has stored every moment you’ve turned away. Every feeling denied, every trauma unacknowledged, every truth swallowed for the sake of survival lives on in the tissues, the breath, the nervous system. Grief is not merely a psychological event. Denial is not just a thought. They have a weight, a texture, a frequency that lives inside you.
To awaken fully, to be free in truth, you cannot bypass this. You must bring your attention inward, not just to the mind or even the heart, but to the cellular memory of the body itself. You must include this silent companion in your devotion to truth.
Devotion to inner freedom is not only a surrender of ego, but a surrender to the body’s truth. It is a willingness to feel what was once unfelt, to embrace what was once rejected, to listen to what was once silenced.
Freedom is not elsewhere. It is here—in your breath, your belly, your bones. When you attend to the body with love and presence, it opens. It reveals its stored-up burdens. And through this inclusion, a new depth of wholeness becomes possible.
The body does not need to be perfected. It needs to be welcomed.
"Listen to this silent companion". This is profoundly touching. Thank you Kavi once again. 🙏🌷
Wow. I loved this, Kavi! Such a profound truth, presented in your compassionate words as always. In this day and age of body shaming, it would be amazing if people of all ages could understand that life happens to our physical bodies, and accept the changes with tenderness and self compassion. It would be nice to celebrate and embrace our uniqueness and differences with a noble respect for the conditions that contributed to the changes and appreciating the wisdom acquired on life’s journey. I yearn to be comfortable and nonjudgemental of my own road map. With your and Amoda’s teachings, I’m seeing that it IS possible. Thank Kavi, just beautiful!
