With dignity and strength
With softness and power
With vulnerability and resolve
With conviction and purpose
With the wounds
And the pain
Without loss or gain
Without ego or shame
Without pride of having arrived
Or the feeling that you didn’t belong
But with knowing you have a place
Despite what others may have said
Or what you may have believed
Despite all the conditioning
And injustice
You are called to
SPEAK YOUR NAME
Into the world
YES I AM HERE
AND I TAKE MY PLACE
Without anyone else’s authority
Or permission or approval
That is my inalienable right
And I claim it
This is such a powerful ritual to perform.

This is the last poem for the week. We have an online meeting tonight and I will need rest tomorrow am. Thank you so much for reading my poems this week.
This week has been an intense and traumatic one for the US, on top of countless other episodes that have become the new normal here.
Amoda and I are blessed to be in this land of ideas, even during these troubled times. Equality is at the heart of the American idea, and even though equality seems a long way away, this great land will not truly become itself until it is embraced.
A land in great need of healing.
Have a peaceful weekend.
Kavi
Beloved Kavi, thank you for this magnificent poem. It bring tears in my eyes and wakes my sensitive yet strong heart to a point where I don't understand the words or why I feel so touch by it. But I feel the truth. May you be blessed.
