RETURN TO CALIFORNIA
As you read this we will be in Sausalito, California, for a small weekend retreat. It was in Sausalito that we first lived when we moved to the US in 2016, thanks to a dear friend who helped us and allowed us to find our feet and get used to being in this new environment. We were supposed to stay 3 months and that became 3 years!
And then we flew the nest and came to Santa Fe in 2019 and have been here since.
So it will be a blessed and interesting return to that most delicious of places.
Some poems from this week for you. x
There, under the rubble of falseness Beneath the construct of self Taken to be real In the ashes of the fire There, in the emptiness In the silence at the center Is the jewel of jewels That quietly radiates its innate beauty. --------------------------- To know love You must become it To know truth You must become it To know silence You must become it To know You must become. ------------------------- Breath is intimacy with life A bridge between the formless and form It is our communion with the divine Our holiest prayer, overlooked and ignored, Until it runs out. ----------------------- Mind may discover answers But they won’t satisfy the heart That longs for burning love. ----------------------- You will only know The fire of transformation When you give yourself to it. ---------------------- I looked outside myself And saw hate and fear Division and judgment Like a forest fire Burning everything We hold sacred and dear A voice whispered in my ear ‘Just put out your own fire.’ ------------------------- It is a beautiful thing To stop judging the world And to start loving it However it shows up. ------------------------- The ghosts of the past Arrive each day Hungry and lonely Offer them presence And love And they will cease Haunting you. -------------------------- Many must grieve For the life they didn’t live And in that grieving They will be liberated Into love’s deepest acceptance Which is surrender. -------------------------- The true healer and teacher Does nothing more Than remind us of our innate harmony And state of inner union. -------------------
