PREPARING FOR LOVE

Last poem until Monday - taking a break

We are preparing to welcome love into our house
The kind of unconditional love that has the power
To transform everything it touches
Without saying anything
Through sheer joy and presence
And the kind of innocence many of us have forgotten

Yes, we are getting a puppy

We are preparing our threshold
To be crossed by a magic creature
Who may, if we treat him with dignity, respect, and care
Bestow gifts upon us that are healing by nature

Yes, we are getting a puppy
Who has only seen a few weeks of this existence
And has drawn us towards him
In a mysterious dance of fate
And we have surrendered to this
Bound as we are to the natural intelligence of life

Such a tiny being to enter such a vast world
Filled with a conflict he will never know
For his essence is pure

May we reflect and amplify his pure nature
For the benefit of all beings.
