“The only spiritual life you need is not to react."
- Ramana Maharshi.
It’s easy to complicate the spiritual path. The mind loves complexity, and the more difficult it is, the better.
But what if it is really as simple as becoming completely non reactive in the face of experience, whatever that experience is?
I know for myself that as my journey has deepened I have become less and less reactive and thus able to meet my experience from a place of presence, openness and a greater maturity. I was very reactive in my old days.
It has changed the quality of my life completely and as a consequence profoundly impacted all aspects of all my relationships. My nervous system has become quiet and relaxed as the default and that has allowed holistic well being to go to a deeper level.
That’s why I talk about this non reactivity all the time. It’s a key to freedom as far as I can see.
Here are some poems for you.
Listen from the openness of your being You will hear the divine Singing the song of existence You do not own your life You were graced it By some unknown intelligence That creates and destroys all form Live as the silence of your true nature There is no other way to know union. --------------------- Peace is the greatest gift You can give to the world But first you must know it. ---------------------- Don’t worry about other people’s judgment Just do your thing and love it Be creative for no reason Sing songs to God Dance, paint, scribble crazy lines Of sorrow or joy Whatever it is inside you Set it free Don’t worry what the other’s think Everyone wants to be free Give yourself permission To not have a clue what or why Just honor the freedom of doing. ---------------------- In presence there is no past to tyrannize us And no future to beguile us Just this exquisite moment How powerful it is to bathe in the river of now. -------------------- True power is unleashed Not by making more trouble With the outside world But by making peace With our inner world And taking that peace with us Wherever we go. -------------------- If you can reach to the heavens, to the divine And manage to pull down the stars Just for a moment And let them shine here on Earth That is enough. -------------------- Inner freedom Does not depend On outer circumstances. -------------------- Know this empty aliveness, The awake universe Vibrating its presence Through form As you. -------------------- You are infinite intelligence Pretending to forget itself Playing the game Of being lost in form Friend, maybe it’s time To move on from that game And live in the remembering. ----------------------- Life’s experience Always offers us The opportunity To remember Our equanimity.
Living as the Divine Observer, thanks Kavi. your poetry is always inspiring for me. Your poem about creativity without expectations is beautiful. Everyone is an artist in their own way given permission inwardly to be such. Beauty and Invention!
Thank you for expressing this in such a beautiful, uncomplicated way 🙏
