JUST BEING WITH THIS

The weather is changeable, the politics are unstable, everything seems to be wobbling on its axis. But that axis itself was never fixed. Everything is in motion, evolving and devolving. The one who stands outside and inside at the same time sees the coming and going, the changing, the instability, the wobbling, and the illusory axis upon which everything stands, with a kind of loving detachment that says, ‘I am all this and none of it. I am in the world but not of the world.’

Presence without narration is the only freedom I have found.

To be humbled is a beautiful thing
Many people could do with experiencing
The ego self falls from its perch
And just for a moment loses its footing
A doorway opens to a deeper reality
Most scramble back
And slam the door shut
Yet there is often one who
Steps through.

Come home
Come home to love
Your truest nature
The secret place hidden
In full view
Invisible to all
But the discerning eye
Come home to
The deepest rest
Where finally everything
Is accepted
An abiding in a vast peace
That passeth the mind’s understanding.

i am eternity arising as form
destined to return to eternity
while here as form
i am still eternity

the wave is the ocean
and the ocean is the wave

there is no separation.

The cost of freedom
Is the attachment
To thinking.

Don’t turn away from the world
Because it's too intense or painful
Or too delusional or tyrannical
Turn towards it with compassionate detached love
With a way of saying, 'I see you clearly, but I will not play that game, for I have seen something more true and benevolent.'

Friend, once the heart has truly softened
It doesn’t harden again
It just stays open
And life is lived in a different way
With a tender grace.

The veil is thinner friend
And all this radical sensitivity you feel
Is the awakening from a deep sleep
That has captivated us for centuries
But is now drawing to a close
Everything is in an evolutionary state
And there is a great opportunity
To remember the truth of ourselves.

We must walk through the valley alone
Facing ourselves deeper and deeper with each step
Although this is, in some ways, perilous and challenging
The walking itself forges something true in us
And eventually we become unshakeable.

I spent most of this life
Wandering lost
Searching for the spirit
I didn’t know was calling me
Yearning to remember
My own indomitable fire
Without knowing it

When I found it
I knew it was always there
But I was distracted
By the world

Now all I can do is spread that fire.

And in the deepest of places
I discovered these things to be self evident
The tenderness to hold life gently
The kindness to allow things to be
The grace to see I and life are one
And the wisdom to know
There is a secret intelligence
To which we all bow down.
