IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PEACEFUL

But it sure helps.

With one foot in the world and one in eternity do we find a way. It’s not an easy navigation, not a summer stroll, more like a warrior’s journey through the great valley of shadows. But for the true spiritual seeker the world has always been divisive and troublesome. Jesus had it tough. The great poet Mansour Al-Hallaj declared, “I am the Truth,” and was summarily executed. The story of the imprisonment and torture of St John of the Cross is (quite honesty) terrifying.

The times are never right and rarely peaceful. The world as it is, is the catalyst for awakening to and of that which is not ‘of the world.’

But still we are here in the world, no matter how enlightened we might be. And that, my friend, is the challenge of our lifetime. There are many people awakening, and each one has to find a way of living in the dream without falling back to sleep or getting lost in reactivity.

It is a profound invitation.

Persuaded by fear

Below all the conditioning 
Underneath inherited beliefs
You can feel it
Your aliveness
Your raw power
Your freedom
Your radiance
You just know it’s in there
But you’re scared
To unleash it

Friend it serves no one
To hide it
The whole point
Of the invitation of life
Is to be it

Come what may.

Don’t be so harsh on your character

With devotion to presence

Playing the game

Our infinite essence
The game is over
And true living happens.
