Humility is a quiet yet profound force in spiritual awakening, one that dismantles the walls of ego and opens the door to our true nature. In a world that prizes certainty and achievement, humility invites us to relinquish the need to know, to be right, or to control. Instead, it asks for vulnerability—a willingness to lay down the defenses of the ego and meet life as it is.
On the spiritual journey, this surrender is not a sign of weakness but a courageous act of letting go. It is an acknowledgment that the self we cling to—the one defined by beliefs, achievements, and roles—is but a construct, a mask over our deeper essence. Humility breaks this mask, often through life’s challenges, disappointments, or the guidance of a spiritual teacher who holds up a mirror to our illusions.
Yet this breaking is not destruction but liberation. When the ego’s grip loosens, a greater truth can shine through—a truth rooted not in separation but in unity, not in striving but in being. It is here, in the humility of not knowing, that the heart opens to profound love, presence, and peace.
Humility also fosters deep intimacy with life and others. Without the ego’s need to dominate or defend, we can listen, connect, and respond with authenticity. It teaches us that true freedom lies not in elevating ourselves but in dissolving into the flow of life itself.
To embrace humility is to step into the mystery of existence with open arms. It is to allow the cracks in our constructed identity to appear, knowing that through these cracks, the light of our true self shines. Humility is both the path and the gift, guiding us home to the essence of being.

Despite the promise and lure Of power, fame and great fortune This existence is not measured By such things But by the depth of love We become and share With others. ----------------------- In silent awareness, all that seems separate— Forms, thoughts, planets, stars, galaxies— Is revealed as one eternal tapestry, Woven through the illusion of time. ----------------------- The greatest task of a human Is to overcome themselves But not through force, Through great inner strength And a willingness to face Whatever arises. ---------------------- In silence and stillness There is deep rest. In deep rest There is great healing. ---------------------- Why does the past Keep knocking on your door? Because it wants to be welcomed home Why do the old wounds still hurt? Because all things that are unloved Feel the pain of exclusion. ---------------------- When you let go Of trying to control everything A door opens into a vast new realm And you are invited to trust life Not fear it. ---------------------- We are not separate isolated islands Alone in a vast and hostile ocean We are pulsating and radiant stars Beaming our magnificence in the night sky Connected to each other in a glorious tapestry All weaving together in a cosmic eternal dance Rise into your beauty Don’t shrink into your smallness. ---------------------- Become so intimate with this moment And every moment That all notion of separation Dissolves into the true union This involves no thinking Just a great and ongoing willingness To let go And meet life softly And openly And tenderly With no agenda at all. -------------------------- We are here to remember the sacred And serve love.
Thanks!
Thanks Kavi
I sometimes copy a poem or some words of yours into my 'notes' on my phone.
I've just had to start a second 'note' for you as I've reached the max words allowed per one note.
I've now started Kavi (2)....
Thats an egoic treat (to tell you) I suppose, but also sharing as a way to say thanks xx
.. as a German Biologist - this is about Curiosity and deep Gratitude - to be Humble and appreciative in ALL things. The SS Concentration Camp Commanders invented Sonder Kommandos - of Concentration Camp Prisoners - who had to burn the Corpses of the gassed Victims in the most horrible conditions - unimaginable - and then unearth the corpses and crush the bones. Some of them escaped and stank for weeks on from dealing with the corpses. Amazingly - they recovered from those horrors and became good Citizens. I think as a German every day about such Horrors and thank what ever “GODS” may be - for my well being now - and each second to be alive and in good shape. Humility is respect and gratitude.
