HEART’S CARETAKER
Your heart, that inner sanctum of light
Is a precious jewel
Only you can really hear its words
Only you can give it a voice
No one else knows whether you are being true to it
No one else can take care of your heart
Yet most seek to fill its holes
By searching for love, for sweetness, for intimacy
Something, someone, on the outside
That brings the wholeness so desperately sought
But no one can give you what you really need
They can only reflect what you give to yourself
It is you and you only who can do this
You are the one
You are your heart’s caretaker
A precious undertaking neglected by many
Discovered and cherished by a few.
