GRATEFUL FOR THE MIRACLE OF LIFE

There are galaxies in your heart
Star dust in your mind
You are the universe itself
Condensed into form
You have arrived as a miracle
Seemingly from the great nothingness
For a brief moment to experience life
With all its myriad joys and tragedies

There is so much to be grateful for
And yet, under the weight of this existence,
And the drama that sucks us into fear,
We forget to be grateful
We forget to stand in awe at the miracle
That we are and that we live

If we forget our gratitude we are lost.
