To a certain extent
Ancestral heritage
Is the passing on
Of unresolved wounds
Hardship and pain
Survivalism and suffering
That which our ancestors
Could not meet and transform
Is passed on like a hot coal
To the next generation
On and on it goes
Even on the cellular level
We are vibrationally and energetically
The carriers of our ancestors
Some of our deepest unknowable movements
May have the fragrance
Of countless generations in them
And now you and I are here
With the opportunity
To end the ancestral passing on
Of unmet wounds
You and I
Are where the buck stops
And the resolution, forgiveness and love
We can find in ourselves
Will be passed on, not just to future generations,
But even on some mysterious level
To those ancestors who played some part
In bringing us here
That’s how important our transformation is.
