EMBRACING OUR HUMANITY

A spontaneous piece for the weekend

Our future lies in embracing our humanity
Not in over powering it
The heart knows secrets the mind cannot understand
But to unlock those secrets we must go inside
And open ourselves to what has been denied

The old ways are finished and we are in a new world now
We face the choice
To either harden more, to close even further
Or to find a way to open even wider

We cannot live shut down from our own or other’s pain
And a great dam must break open
In our own lives and in our collective field

It will be terrible, as an arduous detoxification is terrible
But still we must press on, opening more and more
Until, by and by, the natural order of things finds it’s way
And deep healing happens
And new growth arises
Within and without
For there is no within and without
There is only one thing, and each of us is it.

Go well my friend, thank you for reading these words each day. May your heart be filled with tenderness and joy. We are in the deepest of times, all of us in the same boat somewhere at sea. We need to know that we are alone and we are all one, both things at the same time, and somehow allow that to bring us comfort as the storm threatens overhead.
