DRENCHED IN SORROW
Those who can bear sorrow
Without turning it into a grievance
Are warriors of the heart
Who know life well
Friend, the truth is
We are drenched in sorrow
If we had the courage to face it
But only the wise know
It is the doorway to our humanity
And our individual and collective denial of it
Is a woeful and unfortunate thing
That causes more pain than it cures.
