DIGNITY
We have forgotten our basic dignity
And associated it with arrogance
Most walk with heads down
Lost in thought, device, or shame
They have not touched their own heart
Or felt the treasure within
You cannot walk with dignity
Head to the heavens
Until you know your brokenness
Or while you carry avoidance
This dignity has nothing to do with ego
And everything to do with
Shining in the wreckage
Walking in some kind of inner authority
Dignity is a yes to the experience
Of being here
One could call it humble pride
But these are dangerous words
Easily misinterpreted by the self.
