BEYOND THE REACH OF TIME

I keep diving into the vast beyond, yet still I maintain a thin cord that holds me in place so I can do the worldly things that must be done. That cord is wafer thin and permeable, not a thick rope of coarse attachment but a delicate thread of silken cloth.

I am not ready to let go of the world completely yet, although there is a part of me that has already let go of it. All that is left is this love, this tender presence and this poetry that rises up and spills out.

And here is some more for you. We are in delicate times with many challenges on many levels. May we each have the capacity to keep our hearts open and minds clear.

How far in can you go?
Until you arrive 
At the eternal empty fullness
That is everything

The time it takes
Is of no consequence
Except for the time bound self

If you want to know freedom
You must venture beyond
The time bound self.

And arise from the ashes
Of all that is false in you.

This poetry is not a thing
It’s not mine
There is no pride involved
And no plan
It is as close to honesty as I get
Honoring what bubbles up
Sorrow, joy, or ecstasy
It’s not thinking or ideas
It’s more essential than that
A kind of primary something
A fraction away
From silence.

One word, one glimpse, one taste
Is enough to set the soul on fire
And ignite a longing
That lasts a lifetime.

Be one who loves others
And loves themselves 
So much

That goodness flows from you
Like water onto a parched land

That may be all the purpose you need.

I have become the ground
The ocean
The sky
And the clouds that drift by
I am the silence before and after all things
I am beingness and being
Joy, grief, ecstasy and splendor
I am everything and nothing.
These clumsy words
Are like particles of dust
Blown in a great wind.

Sometimes the moon gets so full
It wants to explode
And then it wanes back to emptiness
The sun sends flashes of white light
Into the darkness
Unstoppable force and mighty sword
We are that moon and that sun
There is a poem inside everyone
Called freedom.

Seek out the one inside
Who feels like the victim
And dissolve them
Into love’s deepest acceptance.

----------------------------

One day you realize
It’s all one being life-ing itself
The mind can’t grasp this
But the soul knows
And the heart feels it

And it causes such a wave of love
The universe falls into it
And you know 
That everything is really alright

And nothing you do, or don't do, changes that.

Sometimes
The desire to withdraw
From the whole game
And fall into the depth of silence
Draws me closer
As the candle draws the moth
Yet I stay
To feed beauty
For eternity is all round me
And this time is fleeting
And although existence is painful
There is an exquisiteness in it.
