BEACON IN THE DARKNESS
Let your spirituality
Permeate your humanity
Let all this awakening
Fall into the denseness of your relationships
Into all your encounters
In this play we call life
Be unashamed to have thrown off the old cloak
Declare your freedom if you must
Without any bombast but with joy and authenticity
Inspire others with your freedom
Or challenge them to open their hearts and minds
Or keep it to yourself
Without hiding or pretending
Without any suppression
But simply shine your inner light quietly
It doesn’t matter how the light shines
It matters that your insight and awareness
Permeates your life
So it becomes a lived reality
Not an isolated theory or philosophy
Be your radiant beautiful awake unique self
A beacon in the darkness that may surround you.

My last poem for the week. I wish you well in your heart. There is so much argument and conflict right now, so much uncertainty here in the US and, it seems, around the world, I believe we have to be careful not to fall into too much righteousness and certainty.
The fact is we are surrounded by misinformation and conflicts of interest at so many levels, and we tend to find out that things are never quite what they seem.
I have believed thousands of things in my life that I subsequently discovered not to be true, it made me wary and wise, and pulled me to rest deeper in my inner being, in not knowing and being open, and not getting drawn in to the surface waves and they crash and fall. Now I am wiser and I stay as aware and awake as I can, in my authority but not in my righteousness.
Just some random thoughts I am having and feeling today. Heart is full of compassion for us all, for the whole of humanity’s plight, and the suffering of those creatures who are at our mercy.
With love from one open heart to another.
