Once again I want to share with you a selection of poems from this week. All from Twitter. The limitation of Twitter has somehow enabled me to become more concise with words. At first I thought it was a limitation and then I discovered it was a freedom. So here they are. You always find me there: https://twitter.com/KavijiPoet
And once again, thank you for reading.
Speak your name Into the world You were gifted a voice To share your wisdom To say what must be said Don’t allow self worth To stand in the way Don’t worry about being strong Or being ready That day is already here. ------------------------------------------------ Most humans are skating on thin ice Terrified of what is underneath them They must keep moving at all costs For if they stand still too long The ice begins to crack And the terror arises. ---------------------------------------------- Maybe the world itself is your true lover And everyone who arrives Are actors and mirrors, Representatives of the divine Sent from beyond To tease, to test, to beg you To remember. ----------------------------------------------- Let the world pierce your heart It will open so wide Everything will heal. ------------------------------------------------- One must have great courage To meet everything That has been denied And pushed into the shadows But we are born for resilience We have such ways built into us Yet we have become domestic and cautious Afraid even of ourselves There is a warrior in each one of us, remember. ---------------------------------------------------- There is a death in surrender It’s the death of the one Who keeps arguing with life You can’t keep fighting life Or fighting your own experience And surrender You can’t half surrender Or surrender when it’s convenient It’s total, all in, the whole way. -------------------------------------------------------- The heart must break open At least once a day Whether in grief Or in joy In sorrow or compassion Or in delight It is a spring that must flow The water of life is meant To pour forth into the world Through each vessel. --------------------------------------------------------- I could go on but I don't want to overwhelm you.
Bless you. Kavi
