A PORTAL TO THE DIVINE

We are living in the great intensity. Most individual spiritual transformation occurs when things become intense. This is that time writ large on the collective stage. The shift of the Ages. The breakdown of old structures that no longer serve. And the opportunity for a shift in consciousness and the rise of love. It may not look like it, caught up as we are in division, opinion and judgment, but don’t let the appearance deceive you, for deep down new shoots are growing.

Be timeless
Transcend culture
Yet also
Be rooted
In the present
Fully here
Fully now
In time
But beyond time.

When I admitted I was lost
And really didn’t know
Who I was
Or what I was doing
The divine arrived
Now I see
There was an opening
In my humility
That allowed the light in.

The weaver and the tapestry
Are the same
The weaver IS the tapestry
But we search high and low
For the weaver
Maybe we don't appreciate
The tapestry enough.

Heartbreak is a doorway
To our humanity
It’s not a weakness
It is an ongoing journey
Into a different kind of strength.

The lighthouse doesn’t fret 
About the ship in the storm
It simply shines its light
Other people’s awakeness
Is not your business
Nor for your judgment
Attend to your own light
And allow grace
To take care of the rest.

It's easy to become hardened and brittle
Bitter and reactionary
As a response to this life
But our task is not that
Our task is to allow the world
To break us open
So we remember
How soft we are inside
And to share that softness
With others
It's not a weakness but a tenderness.

I spent half my life
Running away from pain
And hiding in
The pursuit of oblivion

But the pain returned
And oblivion was temporary

And so began the journey
Of facing what hurt
And discovering
What was beyond
The temporary

An extraordinary unravelling 
Into peace.

Each of us 
Is a portal 
Through which
The divine can enter
We each get to process 
Our experience
Of the world
In our unique way
There is no one way
There is no right way
Sometimes it seems
We are being
Divinely orchestrated.

When the mind is open 
The divine will pour itself in.
